Now the terms are dictated by Ilham Aliyev
06 Oct 2020
For more than a week, Azerbaijan has been fighting for justice to restore its territorial integrity. The successful results of the military-anti-terrorist operations carried out by our army in our historical lands - Nagorno-Karabakh and adjacent territories - have raised the spirits of everyone.
Our soldiers and officers, who are heroic on the
battlefield, deliver crushing blows to the enemy. He expels the aggressor from
our lands and raises our flag at the cost of his life. This rescue mission
carried out by our victorious army under the leadership of the Supreme
Commander-in-Chief is becoming the most glorious page in our history.
A hard slap in the face and a final warning
The last address
of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, along with the achieved military
achievements, was the good news of the larger military victories that await our
people. This appeal, which was listened to by millions of our compatriots not
only in Azerbaijan, but all over the world with tears of joy, great pride and
confidence, was also a harsh slap in the face to the enemy and a final warning
to the patrons of the aggressors.
The President rightly stated that the current situation
is determined by Azerbaijan. Now the conditions are dictated by Mr. Ilham
Aliyev. What are Ilham Aliyev's conditions?
The head of state listed the conditions as follows:
Armenian armed forces must be completely withdrawn from Azerbaijani territory,
Pashinyan must acknowledge Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, apologize to the
Azerbaijani people, say "Karabakh is not Armenia" and prepare a
schedule for withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied territories.
If these conditions of the President of Azerbaijan are
observed, the ceasefire will be restored. As Mr. Ilham Aliyev said, however, it
is difficult to do so when there is heavy fighting. Because if Azerbaijan
stops, the aggressor will not stop. If the terrorist government of Armenia,
which has been occupying our lands for years using an atmosphere of impunity
and pursuing an illegal settlement policy, is given time now, they will again
reveal their insidious intentions. They will implement dirty plans against
Azerbaijan and refuse to negotiate.
Therefore, Mr. Ilham Aliyev rightly stated that there is
no concession to the Pashinyan regime, which insulted the Azerbaijani people
with its actions in Shusha, our ancient fortress. No one can speak dictation
with Azerbaijan, which has been seeking peace and pursuing a humanist policy
for many years.
Azerbaijan has always declared to the world that it is a
supporter of peace. Armenia, on the other hand, did not sit at the negotiating
table under various pretexts to maintain the status quo. Now Pashinyan is
openly begging for talks. However, the President of Azerbaijan does not want to
sit at a table with him, not even to negotiate. Because the talks were
terminated after Pashkina's crazy idea that "Karabakh belongs to
Armenia."
Negotiations are out of the question until the Armenian
serviceman leaves our lands.
The aggressive and fascist-dictatorial nature of the
Armenian government is becoming increasingly clear to the world. Each time the
occupying country negotiated a solution to the conflict, it tried to change the
process in its favor by establishing the principle of the right of peoples to
self-determination. Today, the Pashinyan government continues the same
scenario.
Mr. Ilham Aliyev touched upon this issue in his
interviews with Al Jazeera on 3 October and Al Arabiya on 4 October,
emphasizing that all this is a world of Armenian propaganda, consisting mainly
of ordinary people who are not experts in international law is a point he often
uses to confuse unity. However, there is a very clear explanation of the basic
principles of international law reflected in the Helsinki Final Act, where the
principle of territorial integrity prevails.
According to the President, the Armenian people
determined their destiny when they created a state called Armenia. However,
some countries want Azerbaijan to agree with these principles. Many Armenians
live in those countries. If it is good, those states should donate a part of
their lands to the Armenians and give them the right to self-determination. Of
course, no nation will reconcile with this. So why should Azerbaijan agree with
these principles?
President Ilham Aliyev rightly rejects all claims of
Armenia and declares to the world that his principled, resolute position
remains unchanged, and the international community already accepts the
realities of Azerbaijan.
