The spirit of national leader Heydar Aliyev, whose will was fulfilled, is happy
12 Dec 2020
17 years have passed since the death of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.
Today,
there is a truth known to every citizen of our country: Our great leader Heydar
Aliyev, who lived a rich, meaningful and honorable life to be envied, in a
short period of time made the most important right of our people tirelessly for
centuries. He brought Azerbaijan to the highest point for every state and
nation - independence, demonstrated to all mankind the worthy place of our
state in the world community.
The
analysis of the events of the last century shows that the path of the republic
to independence was completed in 1969 with the purposeful policy pursued during
the second presidency of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan. The main
similarities of the two historical periods, which are quite different in terms
of time and socio-economic formation, were the selfless service of the Great
Leader to Azerbaijan, as well as the expansion of new impulses and trends in
the country's development. The multifaceted activity of Heydar Aliyev during
the leadership of Soviet Azerbaijan has led to the formation of national pride,
national self-consciousness, feelings of freedom and independence in our
people.
The
election of Heydar Aliyev as the First Secretary of the Central Committee of
the Communist Party of Azerbaijan on July 14, 1969 marked the beginning of a
decisive and glorious stage in the life of Azerbaijan with the rise of Vatan
oglu, who was able to take full control of the fate of his people. The years
1969-1982, when the Great Leader led the republic with great foresight and
wisdom, went down in history as a bright period in the history of construction
in Azerbaijan. Before Heydar Aliyev came to power, Azerbaijan, one of the
backward republics of the Soviet Union, in a very short period of time exceeded
the average union level in terms of economic growth. As a result of the great
success of the head of state, Azerbaijan has become one of the two republics of
the former Soviet Union, which is able to fully govern itself, relying on its
domestic economic potential and intellectual potential.
After
the election of national leader Heydar Aliyev as President in 1993, everyone
knew what problems our people inherited from the previous regimes. The
occupation of our lands, the presence of tens of thousands of martyrs and war
invalids, the displacement of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis as refugees
and internally displaced persons, the collapse of the economy were the logical
consequences of the incompetent rulers of those governments. Representatives of
the middle and older generations witnessed the hardships of the Great Leader
Heydar Aliyev to solve these problems. Preventing Armenia's growing military
attacks on the one hand, and separatist tendencies on the other, as well as
eliminating the shortage of bread, which is a strategic food, and providing
housing for hundreds of thousands of IDPs required day and night efforts from
the country's leader. However, Heydar Aliyev was a national leader living with
the problems of his people. As a result of his management skills and leadership
skills, the priorities of social cataclysms were chosen, and consistent and
purposeful steps were taken in this direction. The achievement of the
ceasefire, the establishment of social and political stability in the country,
the signing of historic oil contracts, first of all, eliminated the threats to
the state independence of Azerbaijan. Following this, the Great Leader's
historic salvation mission laid the foundation for a transition from decline to
development. At the same time, this mission provided a rapid transition from
stability to social welfare.
Every
victory, every success is nurtured by history and conditions. From this point
of view, the foundation of the road to victory in the Second Karabakh War, both
on the military and diplomatic fronts, was laid during the leadership of the
Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. We can proudly say that one of the most glorious
and bright pages of state building in our country, which began after the return
of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to power in 1993, is the Azerbaijani Army,
which we are proud of today, the only guarantor of our sovereignty and
territorial integrity. After the signing of the ceasefire agreement in 1994,
the work done in Azerbaijan to build an army and increase the country's defense
capabilities entered a new phase. The formation of military units on the basis
of a single command was soon completed.
Throughout his career, Heydar Aliyev conveyed
Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan to the world in cooperation
with international organizations, and tried to use the influence of these
organizations to ensure peace in the region in accordance with international
law. At that time, the main documents cited by the Great Leader were 4 UN resolutions.
