ATUC sent financial aid to the families of January 20 martyrs
15 Jan 2021
Although 31 years have passed since the bloody events of January 20, 1990, the people of Azerbaijan will never forget their selfless sons and daughters.
On that date, on the orders of the former USSR
leadership, the Soviet army entered the capital of our republic, occupied the
civilian population, fought for independence, and brutally killed hundreds of
our compatriots who were trying to save their homeland from the clutches of
foreigners. Our people always cherish the memory of the martyrs of January 20.
Their memory is also commemorated every year by trade unions.
The Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, as every
year, according to the decision of the Executive Committee dated 13.01.2021 on
January 15, 2021, each of the families of the martyrs of January 20 (102
families) in the amount of 200 (two hundred) manats, a total of 20400 (twenty
thousand) four hundred) manats of aid sent to their addresses by mail.
At the same time, ATUC member organizations will provide
assistance to the families of martyrs, provide them with free trips, hold
meetings with them and hold other events.
