It is known that in addition to a favorable political environment and national will, the presence of a strong leader is an important condition for the realization of the centuries-old traditions of statehood of each nation in a specific state model. A nation without a strong, determined, patriotic and wise leader cannot achieve its independence, even within the real possibilities. Exactly 98 years ago, God Himself gave national leader Heydar Aliyev to our people to realize the highest goals of the Azerbaijani people, such as freedom, independence and national statehood, which they have nurtured for centuries.

Our great leader has always prepared public opinion for qualitatively new and positive changes of the time, made strategic decisions in accordance with the historical conditions, and has always promoted national interests and interests, developed and implemented a long-term development strategy. As a politician with unique qualities, national leader Heydar Aliyev led the country with confidence in two different socio-political structures, worked to strengthen and progress the Azerbaijani state at both stages, and always put the interests of the people first. Starting from the 70s of the last century, all stages of the modern history of Azerbaijan are connected with the name of Heydar Aliyev. Thanks to his foresight, the establishment of the Azerbaijani economy, the establishment of a military lyceum in the country, which trained military personnel, were the steps intended for the current development of independent Azerbaijan. Clearly, the elimination of economic dependence was one of the main factors in the basis of political independence. Thanks to the determination, will and initiative of Heydar Aliyev, many industrial enterprises of the former Soviet Union based on advanced technologies were built in Azerbaijan in those years. Thanks to these fateful steps taken by the great leader, the economic basis for the future independence of Azerbaijan has been formed. Also, the great leader Heydar Aliyev, who correctly assessed the exceptional role of the oil industry in economic development, achieved dynamic development of this field in the 70s, complete modernization of the petrochemical industry.

 

Heydar Aliyev's return to political power saved the Azerbaijani state from the threat of a one-time end to its existence

 

Azerbaijan, which at the end of the twentieth century had a historic opportunity to regain independence, soon faced the threat of losing it. The crisis of power in the country culminated in June 1993, when chaos and anarchy engulfed the republic. Returning to political power in the country that year at the insistence of the people, Heydar Aliyev took this step and saved the Azerbaijani state from the real threat of extinction. It was in those difficult times that the people trusted and relied on a wise leader, a far-sighted politician who would save the people and the state from this difficult situation. The philosophy of national salvation, founded by the great leader, ensured the existence of Azerbaijan in the broadest sense of the word, its independence, which is its greatest historical achievement. The great leader bravely undertook the mission of salvation of our people and statehood in the face of great real dangers. Thus, the years of tension and confrontation in the country have subsided, and our republic has escaped the threat of civil war and disintegration. Since that day, under the leadership of our great leader, great successes have been achieved in our country, reforms have been implemented, economic revival has taken place, and the army has been strengthened. Suffice it to emphasize the importance of the "Contract of the Century" as a confirmation of these views. This international oil agreement played a key role in the further successful development of Azerbaijan.
