It should be unequivocally stated that the views of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party Ilham Aliyev on priorities such as further strengthening political dialogue in the country, strengthening antitrust policy in the economic sphere and continuing the course of cooperation in foreign policy will be base platforms for our futher development programs. This statement was made in an interview with MP, chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Sattar Mohbaliyev.

Emphasizing the historical role of the New Azerbaijan Party, founded by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, in achieving and maintaining the independence of our country, the MP said that in November 1992, young and very weak Azerbaijan had real prospects for development. The New Azerbaijan Party was established as a result of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev's political experience, knowledge, wisdom, services to the people, true unshakable patriotic spirit and loyalty to his people and the Azerbaijani statehood. As the President said in his speech at the VII Congress of the Party, in fact, it was November 1992 that opened the way to a new stage in the life of our young country. Less than a year later, in October 1993, the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was elected President with the support of the absolute majority of the people, and the process of overcoming the crisis in our country began on that date. We must know this history well and pass it on to future generations. Therefore, our true history of independence is connected with the name of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Because before that there was so-called independence, but in fact there was not. If Heydar Aliyev had not come to power at a time when the issue of life and death was literally resolved for our country, our people and our state, today Azerbaijan would either no longer exist as a state, or at best live a semi-colonial life as a puppet state under great powers. But none of this happened. 1993-2003 were decisive years for the formation of Azerbaijan as a fully independent state through the efforts of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who returned to the country's leadership at the insistence and demand of the people. At that time, the foundations of statehood were laid and the Constitution was adopted. Political reforms were launched, a multi-party system was created. The country has emerged from international isolation. Azerbaijan has already begun to be recognized as a respectable and worthy country, and large investments have been attracted to our country. It was in those years that army building began. All these beginnings have been successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev over the past 17 years, and as a result, today Azerbaijan is fully politically and economically independent, has restored its territorial integrity, confidently holds the leading position in the region and has a high international reputation. It has established itself in the international arena as a strong and sovereign state. ”

 

Sattar Mohbaliyev stressed that the historic victory in the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of our lands from occupation was the greatest historical achievement of Azerbaijan to date, thanks to the preparations carried out in 2003-2020. 2003-2020 was a necessary and important preparatory period for our country. To take decisive steps to liberate our lands from occupation and restore our territorial integrity. During all this time, the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, has always said that if the issue is not resolved peacefully, we will resolve it through war. Despite all external pressures and accusations, the President of Azerbaijan has never taken a step back from this rightful position. Almost the whole world said that there was no military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. International organizations tried to sign a protocol with Armenia in any form so that the issue could be resolved peacefully. That is, the military way should be excluded. Only the political will of President Ilham Aliyev did not allow it. For 17 years, the head of state has been raising this issue in all his speeches, in all events held at the international level, drawing attention to the current conflict. Thanks to the measures taken, first of all, internal stability was ensured, and the unity of the people and government was achieved.
