The Institute of Geology and Geophysics holds the next meeting of the ANAS Free Trade Union (AHI) Assembly.
Initially, the memory of the outstanding orientalist,
academician Vasim Mammadaliyev, the head of the department of Baku State
University was remembered with one-minute silence.
The meeting was opened by the
chairman of the ECHR, Doctor of Law, Professor Habil Gurbanov, who briefed the
participants on the agenda of the event and highlighted the work the agency has
done in 2019. He said that during the past period free medical examinations of
the Academy's staff were held, regular food fairs were organized, trips to
theaters, recreation camps and sanatoriums were distributed to poor families.
In addition, he commemorated the January 20 tragedy and the Khojaly genocide,
the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and more. The series is
dedicated to the events.
Gurbanov said the AFC's
volleyball and basketball courtyard has been commissioned in the courtyard of
the Academy campus to allow employees to spend their leisure time efficiently
this year. He noted that these sports are planned to be included in the III
Spartakiad, which will be held among the first organizations of ANAS in 2020.
He also said that it was planned to create a musical ensemble of ANAS staff.
The meeting also confirmed the
membership of the newly elected chairmen of the Republican Seismological
Service Center, High Technology Park and trade union organizations of the Elm
Publishing House.
Later, the deputy head of
the ANAS Department of Public Works Sardar Aliyev spoke about strengthening
control over the use of land allocated to the Academy staff at Khizi Support
Center. He said that the land was allocated from the balance of the Khizi
Agricultural Production Complex of ANAS for the purpose of improving the social
status of the Academy's staff and organization of effective rest. He said that
the work carried out in the area was carried out in accordance with the
document "Rules for allocation and use of land for temporary use for
horticulture and horticulture for employees of ANAS", approved at a
meeting of the Presidium. He noted that over the past period, mapping has been
carried out in the area, lands have been distributed, access roads have been
laid, water wells have been drilled, and some fencing works have been carried
out. Currently, it is planned to plant relief trees in the area.
Speaking about the current
shortcomings, Aliyev called on the deputy director general of scientific
institutions and organizations to support the solution of problems.
