packages were distributed to 3,900 low-income families living in the regions of
the country. At the same time, at the meeting of the Executive Committee on
April 30, 2021 on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of national leader
Heydar Aliyev and the measures taken by President Ilham Aliyev to address the
social problems of low-income families, martyrs and veterans, this category of
families It was decided to distribute gifts.
According to the decision, today, May 8, food convoys
were sent to 4,000 families in 76 cities and regions. Food aid will also be
distributed to 1,000 low-income families living in the Nakhchivan Autonomous
Republic.
In general, from 2020 to date, the ATUC and its member
organizations have spent about 12 million manat in connection with the pandemic
and the Great Patriotic War. In particular, the financial assistance provided
by the ATUC and its member organizations in connection with the pandemic
amounted to 7,167,749 manat. For this purpose, AZN 705,000 was transferred to
the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Regional Development Public Union, AZN 458,920
to the Coronavirus Support Support Fund, AZN 210,000 to the Coronavirus Support
Support in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, AZN 936,628 was distributed to
trade union members for quarantine use. 1,617,825 manat was provided to the
families, and on April 29, 2020, food gifts were distributed to 3,900 families
living in 76 cities and regions. 49,339 people over the age of 65 were provided
with financial assistance in the amount of 3,239,375 manat to needy people and
members of trade unions with disabilities. At the same time, Azerbaijani trade
unions received AZN 4,254,207 in connection with the Patriotic War, including
AZN 600,000 to the Karabakh Revival Fund, AZN 1,543,625 to the Yashat and Armed
Forces Assistance Fund, including AZN 800,000 by the ATUC (AZN 350,000 to the
Armed Forces Assistance Fund). AZN 300,000 was transferred to the Yashat
Foundation and AZN 150,000 to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. AZN 1,860,582
was spent to meet the needs of soldiers and officers and other issues, and AZN
150,000 was transferred to the Trade Union Council of the Nakhchivan Autonomous
Republic to help the families of martyrs.
Also, 152 families of martyrs are under the protection of
Azerbaijani trade unions and will receive monthly financial assistance until
the age of 18. In addition, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the
Republic of Azerbaijan and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan
allocated AZN 200,000 in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation to assist
in the organization of self-employment of vulnerable groups. Thus, during this
period, about 200,000 of our citizens were provided with financial assistance
