Winners of contests and sports tournaments between teachers and students are rewarded at ATUC

In connection with the 96th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the Republican Committee of Independent Trade Union of Education Workers held literary and arts competition between the students of universities and colleges, competitions in five types of sports between the teachers of Baku city general education schools and chess tournaments between the teachers of general educational institutions.
On June 7, Azerbaijan Trade Unions
Confederation (ATUC) hosted the ceremony of rewarding winners of literary and
arts competitions and sports tournaments.
The chairman of ITUEW Republican
Committee, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev stated that the literary and arts competition
between the students of universities and colleges had been organized upon joint
decision of the Committee and the Ministry of Education.
It was noted that the event aimed at
cultivating in students a spirit of respect to our culture, art, national
traditions, at organizing their leisure time more effectively by enhancing
their artistic and aesthetic level.
Competitions in five types of sports
between the teachers of Baku city general education schools have been organized
upon the decision jointly made by ITUEW Republican Committee and Baku city
Education Department. Nearly thousands of teachers from general education
schools in Baku took part in the tournaments competing in volley-ball, chess,
draughts, mini football and table tennis.
At the end the winners were presented
cups, diplomas and gifts.
