A meeting with the leaders of Turkey's leading public organizations was held at the ATUC

02 Nov 2020

On November 2, 2020, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan hosted a meeting of the chairman of the organization, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev with the heads of leading public organizations in Turkey.

The meeting was attended by the Confederation of Trade Unions of Turkey (TURK-ISH), the Confederation of Trade Unions of Workers (HAK-ISH), the Confederation of Trade Unions of Employers (TISK), the Confederation of Trade Unions of Public Workers (T. KAMU-SEN). The leaders of the Confederation of Trade Unions (MEMUR-SEN) were present.
Welcoming the guests, S. Mohbaliyev said that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan launched a counter-offensive on September 27 in connection with the attack of the Armenian armed forces along the entire front. Unlike the Armenian armed forces, the Azerbaijani army only silences the firing points of the opposite side. As a result, you know that part of our occupied territories, including 4 cities, 3 settlements, about 200 villages were liberated from the occupiers, and a number of strategically important heights came under the control of our army.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our Turkish brothers, including the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for their unwavering support for the war for justice in Azerbaijan. I believe that our brotherhood is irreversible and eternal.
The ATUC chairman further said that the Armenian side violated the ceasefire and used banned weapons against the civilian population of Azerbaijan. As a result of this tactic implemented by the Armenian fascists, only the civilian population suffered. On October 4, 11 and 17, 26 people, including 10 women and 6 children, were killed by rocket fire into the city of Ganja, far from the front line. At the same time, 26 civilians were killed and about 70 were injured in an attack by Armenian vandals on October 27-28 in Barda. Civilian infrastructure, apartment buildings, private homes and vehicles in both cities were severely damaged.

At the same time, the Armenian armed forces in Tartar, Agjabadi. As a result of rocket attacks on Goranboy, Naftalan, Aghdam and Goygol regions, civilians were killed and their personal property, including houses and other property, was severely damaged. In general, as a result of vandalism carried out by the Armenian armed forces against the civilian population since the beginning of military operations, 90 people were killed, 392 were injured, 2406 houses, 92 high-rise buildings and 423 civilian facilities were damaged.
These atrocities, the gross violation of the 1949 Geneva Conventions, are evidence of the continuation of the genocidal policy pursued by Armenia against the Azerbaijani people since the early twentieth century.
The main goal of the Armenian leadership in firing on the territories far from the front line and without any military facilities is to create alarm among the population living in those territories. However, they forget that today's Azerbaijan is not the Azerbaijan that just gained independence in the 1990s.

Today, there is a strong Azerbaijan led by the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. At the same time, the Armenians intend to involve a third party in the ongoing operations. However, they forget that today all of Turkey stands by Azerbaijan, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Of course, regardless of the goals of Armenia, their armed forces knelt before the Azerbaijani army. Armenia will have to answer for all its actions against Azerbaijan.
The world community also knows that the use of ballistic missiles, cluster bombs and banned weapons by Armenians against the civilian population is a crime. The Azerbaijani government has submitted reports, appeals and statements to international organizations regarding their crimes. These reports should be analyzed by relevant international organizations, and the perpetrators of the Armenian government and those who make these decisions should be held accountable for crimes against humanity and violations of humanitarian law.

I think it will be so. I believe that in the near future, our victorious army, led by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, will wave the Azerbaijani flag in all settlements of the former Nagorno-Karabakh region, including Shusha and Khankendi.
