ATUC Executive Committee held an online meeting

An online meeting of the ATUC Executive Committee was held on August 13. Opening the meeting, chairman of the organization, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev informed about the issues included in the agenda.
Mohbaliyev said that thousands of children were
heroically killed in the fight against Armenian aggression and terrorism. The
Heydar Aliyev Foundation, led by President Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva,
is taking important steps to address the social problems of the families of our
martyrs who died for the integrity of Azerbaijan. In order to solve the social
problems of the families of martyred soldiers and officers, the Azerbaijani
trade unions also took care of the families of many martyrs in the first years
of the Karabakh war and provided them with material and moral assistance from
time to time. It is known that dozens of patriots were killed in the battles of
April 2016 and in the heroic prevention of the attacks of the Armenian invaders
in the border area of Tovuz region in July this year. In order to help the
social problems of the families of these martyrs, the ATUC Executive Committee
decided to take care of 41 minors of 23 servicemen killed on April 2-5, 2016
and July 12-14, 2020. Each child of the martyr's family should receive 150 (one
hundred and fifty) manats per month until they reach the age of 18. Payments
should be made from September 1, 2020.
Speaking about the
measures taken by the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation in the fight against
coronavirus (COVID-19) at the meeting of the Executive Committee, the ATUC
chairman noted that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev
comprehensive measures were taken to protect the health of citizens gained work
experience. The appeals of the Head of State and First Vice-President Mehriban
Aliyeva to the people during these test days played a positive role in the
fight against the coronavirus.
Azerbaijani trade unions have mobilized all their
resources to help eradicate the coronavirus infection and support the decisive
steps taken by President Ilham Aliyev to prevent the global pandemic infection.
The ATUC transferred AZN 250,000 to the Coronavirus
Support Fund and AZN 200,000 to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, AZN 205,000
to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Regional Development Public Union, and AZN
10,000 to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Trade Union Council.
At the same time, ATUC member organizations transferred
up to one million manat to 24,188 low-income families living in the regions of
the country by transferring funds to the Coronavirus Support Fund, and provided
351,056 manat worth of protective equipment to trade union members for
quarantine use. . In general, Azerbaijani trade unions spent more than
4,204,445 manat on the fight against coronavirus and measures taken by the
state. Such material and moral assistance continues today.
At the meeting of the Executive Committee, ATUC member
organizations were recommended to continue measures to combat coronavirus
(COVID-19), to ensure the effectiveness of work with employers to ensure
employment and social protection of workers during the pandemic.
The meeting also decided to allocate AZN 100,000 to the
Coronavirus Support Fund of the Ministry of Finance of the Nakhchivan
Autonomous Republic and AZN 10,000 to the Trade Union Council of the Nakhchivan
Autonomous Republic.
The meeting approved the work plan of the ATUC Executive
Committee and staff for the second half of 2020 and discussed current issues.
