ATUC holds next educational seminar on "Implementation of Compulsory Health Insurance System in the Country"

The next series of educational seminars on “Application of Compulsory Health Insurance System in the Country” was held in Mingachevir on 6 September with the support of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan
The purpose of the event was to inform the public about
the system of compulsory health insurance, the benefits of the system and the
readiness to apply compulsory health insurance throughout the country.
Speaking at
the seminar, Deputy Chairman of the ATUC Javanshir Alkhasov said that the
introduction of compulsory health insurance in the country will continue to
contribute to the development of health care as a continuation of recent
reforms in the health care system. He said that the purpose of compulsory
health insurance is to reduce the financial burden on the health care costs of
the population and to introduce a new health financing mechanism. Alkhasov said
that important steps are being taken to implement the system of compulsory
health insurance and since January 1, 2020, the system will cover the entire
country.
Hasan Jafarov,
the head of the ATUC’s secretariat, emphasized the importance of active
participation of trade union members in the process of implementing the
compulsory health insurance system throughout the country. The participants
were then informed about the experience of countries around the world regarding
the use of the compulsory health insurance system, outpatient, in-patient
examination and treatment provided within the envelope of services.
Medical seminar statistics on pilot areas (Mingachevir,
Yevlakh and Agdash regions) were brought to the attention. At the end, the
participants were asked questions. Earlier, educational activities were
organized in Guba, Gusar, Balakan, Gakh, Zagatala and Sheki cities.
