ATUC delegation attended the anniversary event of its Russian colleagues

A meeting of the General Council of the Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions (RSFSF) was held in Moscow on October 30.
Opening the event, Chairman of the Federation M. Shmakov
spoke about trade union tasks, the activities of the Federation, the 30th
anniversary of the Federation and other issues in the implementation of the
decisions of the X Congress of the Federation.
Speaking at the event, the chairman of the ATUC, a member of the
Parliament, Vice-President of the Confederation of International Trade Unions
(ITUC), Sattar Mohbaliyev, made a speech.
According to him, the trade union movement
of Russia has passed through a complex and complex path. Over the past years,
the creation and development of the CRDF has been a challenging search for
trade unions to find their place in a completely new historical context. During
its activity, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia has formed a
social partnership system, legislative framework in the field of social and
labor relations, and holds a number of large-scale actions aimed at protecting
labor rights and social security. Today, trade union activists in Russia
continue to enrich their already-established traditions, work towards the
development of trade unions and improving the living conditions of workers,
strengthening the status of RCMP as a respected institution in protecting their
rights.
The Federation of Independent Trade Unions
of Russia participates in the development of federal and regional draft laws in
the area of social and labor, trade union and labor rights, and actively
contributes to the improvement of Russian legislation. The Federation also
makes a significant contribution to the development of cooperation and friendly
relations between trade unions of the CIS countries. Mikhail Viktorovich
Shmakov, chairman of the Federation, a well-known Russian trade union leader
and president of the Confederation of Trade Unions, vice-president of the
International Trade Union Confederation, is well-respected in the world trade
union movement.
The chairman of the ATUC said that we are
all from a single trade union family and that the problems existing in one
trade union center are similar to those in neighboring national trade union
centers. Of course, in recent years, each of us has received positive reviews
in one or another of the trade union activities. Today, in the context of globalization
of economic processes, we need each other, we need trade union solidarity.
The fraternal relations between our
countries and peoples are highly valued in Azerbaijan. We have lived in a state
for decades, and we have had difficult times in our history. But we have
dignified them, and we have maintained a tradition of friendship and mutual
understanding. Everyone lives in their own world, but all of us are united in
the same effort - building a democratic state, the progress of our countries.
The
Azerbaijani Trade Unions have always been following the active activities of
the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia. Over the past 30 years of
the ATUC and CRDF, we have defined our goals and objectives, the forms and
methods of our work, and have built a constructive, business relationship. Our
Confederation is constantly developing and strengthening its ties with foreign
trade unions and international trade union organizations, guided by the interests
of member organizations. ATUC has been a member of the International Trade
Union Confederation since 2000.
Mohbaliyev
added that the ATUC, in all its activities, confirms its commitment to the
goals and ideals of the international trade union movement. We work
purposefully to ratify the ILO Conventions by the country's parliament. Today
we can note with satisfaction that 8 of the 11 socially important conventions
have already been ratified by the Azerbaijani parliament. With the joint efforts
of Rusia and Azerbaijan Trade Union Centers, we can play a more active role in
protecting workers' rights.
Speaking about the important events with
the participation of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, I
would like to emphasize that we have a very close relationship between the ATUC
and the RSFSF, as well as the Federation of Trade Unions Federation of the
Republic of Tatarstan and signed cooperation agreements and agreements. During
our co-operation, you not only have your own organizational potential, but also
your tactical perfection and operational response to the situation.
