ATUC delegation attended 107th session of International Labor Organization

International Labor Organization (ILO) held 107th session in Geneva, Switzerland where government officials and social partners took part.
The agenda oh this session contained
reports by director general and chairman of the Management Board, information
and reports regarding the implementation of the Convention and recommendations,
basic discussion on realization of effective cooperation with ILO regard to
Sustainable Development Goals, reconsideration of strategic targets of social
dialogue and tripartism under ILO Declaration "Social justice for fair
globalization" approved in 2008.

Confederation, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev's delegation attended the session.
The Head of Azerbaijan Delegation Sattar
Mohbaliyev made a speech at the session. He welcomed the attendees and
expressed his satisfaction with the visit of Guy Ryder, the ILO director
general to our country. He said this visit was a historical and very imported
chance to meet for both trade unions and partners. I believe the comprehensive
exchange of views we had will contribute to your future activities.
S.Mohbaliyev said: " I think issues
to be discussed on the 107th session agenda are very urgent and solution of
challenges ahead requires more focus and activity from us – social partners.
We all know that globalization is an
irreversible trend in the development if today's world. Its consequences
influence lives of millions of people to an extent. Globalization relies on
more flexible movement of capital, goods, services, technologies, information
and workforce. So, economy of developed and developing countries loses national
isolation.
It was brought to attention that
critical changes happen in socio-economic development in the Republic of
Azerbaijan. Large-scale reforms, steps for providing decent labor conditions
govern improvement of well-being of the population.
In order to strengthen employees social
insurance in the country and document employer and employee relations, the
Commission for Regulation and Coordination of Labor Relations that includes
representatives of various government agencies, ATUC and National Confederation
of Azerbaijan Republic Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations was established
in March last year according to the Presidential Decree.
