Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation received the delegation of ILO

On January 25 Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Vice-president International Trade Unions Confederation, and Member of Parliament Sattar Mehbaliyev has received delegation of ILO headed by chairman of Transnational Corporations and Institutions Affairs Department Githa Roelanse.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade
Unions Confederation gave the information to the guests about the history of
trade unions. Sattar Mehbaliyev told that last year Azerbaijan Trade Unions
celebrated its 110 years and passed several stages in its development way.
Chairman told that Azerbaijan
Trade Unions collaborated with transnational organizations functioning in our
country. In 25 transnational organizations functioning in Azerbaijan out of 50
formed trade unions. But serious obstacles and barriers in several
multinational enterprises still exist in the forming process of trade unions.
We need the assistance of the organization you represent in order to remove
such negative cases.
Transnational Corporations
and Institutions Affairs Department of ILO Githa Roelanse expressed her
confidence that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan Trade Unions
Confederation and International Labor Organization would develop hence force.
She told that ILO also interested in the protection of workers social rights
and they were conducting purposeful work in this direction. Mrs. Roelanse told
that they would render their assistance in all raised issues.
In the meeting the
sides exchanged their views on a wide range of issues.
