Azerbaijani Trade Unions Delegation Attends IV Congress of International Trade Unions Confederation
04 Dec 2018
The 4th congress of the International Trade Union Confederation has started its work in Copenhagen, Denmark, on December 2.
Over 1,200 delegates from 132 countries
are participating in the congress. Speaking at the opening of the congress,
Denmark's Prime Minister Lars Lekke Rasmussen, Director of the International
Labor Organization Kay Rayder, Lord Mayor of Copenhagen Frank Jensen, Chairman
of the Danish Trade Union Confederation Lizette Risgord, and President of the
International Trade Union Confederation Joao Antonio Felisio and wished success
to the congress.
A delegation of Azerbaijan Trade Unions
headed by Sattar Mohbaliyev , Vice President of the International Trade Union
Confederation, is also attending the conference, which will last until December
7. Head of Azerbaijani delegation spoke at Congressional meeting on December 4.
S.Moalbaliev said that our country has
taken into account the proposals on the issues of gender and youth policy
development, fight against informal economy, youth employment and improvement
of trilateral dialogue adopting the Country Program for the Decent Work for 2016-2020.
Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation has adopted its Concept to implement the
goals and objectives set out in the country's program, where it envisages
expanding inclusive employment, activating the economy, and implementing
measures to eliminate unofficial employment in the country. Today, Azerbaijan's
trade unions are trying to use all of their opportunities to implement the
tasks set out in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals program. We
see the implementation of these tasks in the use of the technical revolution's
achievements.
Another important issue on the agenda is
the future spheres of labor. I must say with regret that today in some
countries the governments and the business empire try to change the form of
labor under the name of crisis and to completely overcome the achievements of
trade unions' efforts to organize the protection of mercenaries. First of all,
this leads to an increase in unemployment and a decline in real wages, unstable
employment, and a lack of confidence in the employee.
At the
end of his speech S.Mohbaliyev underlined that the ITUC and its relevant
structures should take appropriate steps to eliminate this mistrust and to
develop an alternative policy.
