The 6th Congress of State Administration and Public Service Workers’ Trade Union was held in Baku

The 6th congress of the Azerbaijani State Administration and Public Service Workers' Trade Union was held in Baku on August 25. At the congress, the head of the Azerbaijani State Administration and Public Service Workers' Trade Union, Hikmat Osmanov, made a report on the activities of the organization over the past year.
He mentioned that the work done in
organization carried out in line with the position of the Azerbaijan Trade
Unions Confederation. During the reporting period, the organization made
efforts to protect the social, economic and labor rights of members of trade
unions. It was noted that, according to the result of the last year, the State
Administration and Public Service Worker’s Trade Union covering the first 1576
trade union organization and joined 79.503 trade union members in itself. In
comparison with the last year the cancellation of a number of member organization
and the transfer of others to more subordinate organizations, the number of
first trade union organizations decreased by 3.7% and the number of members
increased by 1.4% as a result of the efforts made. In this sphere, 37.8 % of
workers are women and 21.4% are young people. In 2016 year, 13.777 application
and complaints were entered to the committee out of which 98.8% fined a
positive solution.
Report of the Inspection Commission
was heard afterwards.
Then new members of the governing
bodies of the organization were elected and decisions were made by putting to
vote.
At the end, Hikmet Osmanov was reelected as a
Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Administration and Public Service Workers'
Trade Union.
