“Surely, Azerbaijan Trade Unions’ role in achievements reached in social and
economic areas is not less significant. Azerbaijan Trade Unions emerging in the
2nd half of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century became a real
protector of social and economic interests of workers as of its establishment
in 1904.
He stated that since its establishment ATUC has
been carrying out expert examination of socially focused laws and decisions
(resolutions), regulatory documents adopted with regard to trade union members
social benefits, and making relevant proposals. Nearly most of the proposals
that we make are defended by the country’s legislative and executive
authorities. This is why over 120 significant amendments and additions were
made to the Law “on trade unions”, codes of labour and administrative offences,
and socially focused legislative instruments upon our proposal.
