A meeting of heads of Pan European Regional Council was held in Brussels

A meeting of the heads of the Pan European Regional Council PERC was held in Brussels, Belgium on 16 January. The event is dedicated to discussing the work plan of the Council for 2019.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Trade Unions
Confederation, vice-president of the International Trade Union Confederation
(BHIK) and Pan-European Regional Council, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev delivered a
speech at the meeting. Congratulating the participants on New Year's Eve, the
AHIK Chairman wished them successes in the protection of labor and
socio-economic rights of trade union members. Noting that 2018 was the year of
preparation and conduction of the IV Congress of the International Trade Union
Confederation, S.Mohbaliyev said that many of us participated in this congress
and made their proposals on the decisions made. Many of those present at the
event were elected to the governing bodies of the Council.
Now, our goal is to fulfill the tasks
set by ITUC congress. This is to ensure that efforts to stimulate the creation
of new jobs and to ensure that workers' labor rights are respected in the conditions
of industrial revolution. We, as trade union workers, should focus on sensitive
issues of workers, gender equality and youth problems.
I would like to state that in the last
period the Pan European Regional Council has held a number of events jointly
with local trade unions in different countries. This is also reflected in the
report presented to us today. Last year PERC's activity was extremely
productive. I am confident that our organization will be able to cope with its
tasks this year. S.Mohbaliev further noted that the cooperation of the Trade
Unions Confederation of Azerbaijan and the Pan-European Regional Council was
constantly developing and effective for almost two parties. AHIK supported and
closely participated in all events held by the European Regional Council.
S.Mohbaliev noted that, with the financial
support of AHIK and PERC, it is possible to organize more events in trade
unions, international events related to the training of trade union activists. We
appreciate the solidarity and support shown to member organizations by PARC
over the past year. The AHIK chairman noted that this year the PERC General
Assembly will be held.
I think that after the General
Assembly, our Council will be stronger thanks to the implementation of the decisions
adopted at the Congress of the International Trade Union Confederation and the
General Assembly. At the end of his speech S.Mohbaliev expressed his gratitude
to all members of PERC for their successful fulfillment and wished them success
in their work and noted that the AHIK WAS always ready to support all the
measures and projects of the Pan-European Regional Council.
