Sustainable Development: Challenges and Prospects of Trade Unions»

On September 11, a seminar on "Sustainable Development: Challenges and Prospects of Trade Unions", was held in Baku. It was jointly  organized by Azerbaijan Trade  Unions Confederation  and International Labor Organization.

First Deputy Chairman  Azerbaijan  Trade Unions Confederation   Ilyas Aliyev  made  a  speech  and  noted  that the Sustainable Development Program covers 193 countries of the world. As in all countries, the implementation of the goals of sustainable development began with the nationalization of relevant goals and their integration into the development agenda of the country in Azerbaijan. Together with working groups and partners, strategies, programs and other policy documents are being developed that are currently in place in our country, and plans are being developed to address the gaps in nationalization aimed at achieving the goals of sustainable development and their indicators on the country's development agenda.
Expert of the International Labor Organization A. Biondi expressed his thoughts on the project documentation on the "Sustainable Development Goals of 2030" in Azerbaijan. The head of the ILO European Department for Labor, S. Glovasgas and the ILO expert from Moscow bureau G.Aleksandria spoke about the role of trade unions in providing decent work for workers and ensuring their social and economic rights in achieving sustainable development.
Afterwards the presentation "Sustainable development: duties and prospects of trade unions" was held.
