The railwaymen gathered in Tbilisi

The 56th meeting of the Council of the International Union of Railway Employers' Union in Tbilisi, Tbilisi, and the international conference on "Role of trade unions in the adaptation of social policy in the Eurasian transport corridors" took place in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The
delegation, headed by the chairman of the Republican Committee of the
Independent Trade Union of Railways of Azerbaijan Fazail Bagirov, attended the
event.
At the
meeting, discussions were held on the activities of the Council, the work
carried out by trade unions in the direction of increasing the socio-economic
situation of the railwaymen and real wages.
Speaking
at the events F. Bagirov spoke about the
transport and logistics opportunities of Azerbaijan and the reforms carried out
in the railway over the past four years. He provided detailed information on
Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway connection, North-South and South-West transport
corridors, International Trans-Caspian Transportation Route. He said that
strengthening of international routes is aimed at increasing the transit
potential of the participating countries. He said recently the introduction of
technologies that meet the most modern standards in our country has begun.
In 2019
it is planned to organize passenger transportation on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars
route. For this purpose, Azerbaijan Railways Closed Joint-Stock Company and
Swiss Stadler Rail Group signed a contract for the construction of passenger
carriages for the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars route. A passenger train, consisting of 10
wagons, has arrived in Baku. In the second stage, another 10 wagons are
expected to be delivered. Wagons are based on the latest technology.

Bagirov said that in all these cases the Republican Committee works with the
Public Administration. Successful steps taken by the management of the Society
to solve the social problems of the railway workers, the reduction of social
tension in labor collectives and the improvement of working conditions are the
main components of the work being done. Structural changes and the introduction
of new employment rules are among the most successful events of recent years.
Expensive costs in the Department, management and organizations have been
prevented, and the findings are aimed at increasing the wages of railway
workers working in institutions.
All the
issues on the agenda were discussed and relevant decisions were made.
