Independent Trade Union Republican Committee of Azerbaijan Sea Transport Workers
Trade union of Caspian Sea Sailors was established in 1906 as a “Sailors Trade Society”.
Independent Trade Union Republican Committee of Azerbaijan Sea Transport Workers is a legal heir of Azerbaijan Trade Union of Water Transport Workers which was registered in Justice Ministry in 12.03.1993.
Independent Trade Union Republican Committee of Azerbaijan Sea Transport Workers unites the Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping and Baku International Sea Trade Port.
Trade union combines 7634 and 17 first union organizations.
The Supreme body of trade union is a congress which is held in every 5 years. The last 3rd Congress of Independent Trade Union Republican Committee of Azerbaijan Sea Transport Workers was held in the 1st march, 2006.
Between congresses the governing body is the Plenum which is held not less than once a year, but between plenums period is a presidium.
All issues concerning production as well as solving the social problems of the workers at the enterprises and organizations are regulated by the collective agreement concluded between employers and trade union committees.
The collective agreement was concluded between Trade Union Republican Committee and employers at shipping enterprises included in the service area of Independent Trade Union Republic Committee of Azerbaijan Sea Transport Workers and also Baku International Sea Trade Port.
In addition, Area (Tariff) Agreement is concluded between the Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping and Independent Trade Union Republican Committee of Azerbaijan Sea Transport Workers
Republican committee is a member of International Federation of Transport Workers and International Trade Unions Confederation of Water Transport Workers.
