Statement of Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation concerning terror act in Ganja

Armed Attack to the Head of the Executive Power of Ganja city Elmar Valiyev and assassination of employees of Internal Affairs Ministry by radical religious terrorists directed against the people of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani state, and is an attempt to create chaos in the country.
Unfortunately, immediately after the
first case some mass media and web pages related to radical religion tried to
bring to the level of "hero", the individual who was charged in
treason against the State. Some people
which left the country because of their crimes and were hosted by other
countries, who call themselves the "opposition", were not ashamed to
create defense committee forces to protect these criminals in social networks.
Several websites via YouTube channel have broadcasted the call for revolt.
Thus, those who were not supporting the
independence of Azerbaijan, its current rapid development went further on July
10, hold an unsanctioned rally in front of the administrative building of the
executive power of Ganja and two police officers were killed with cruelty. We
believe that, in any case justification of the terrorism is unacceptable.
Up to half a million members of trade unions
Confederation of Azerbaijan considers
that those who carry out these attacks to create chaos in the country must be
determined within the short time and
punished by laws. Every citizen
should strongly defend the national interests of the Azerbaijani state. After
our Republic gained independence, we had passed some serious tests, hopeful to
pass this test with honor again.
The Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan
declares that defending the peace, stability, public order in the country,
protecting rights of the citizens is the duty of all of us and many unions in
this state will always support the Azerbaijani State.
