“The military-patriotic spirit of our youth is high”

On September 6, a conference titled “Tasks, new forms and methods of student trade unions in the spirit of national patriotism and Azerbaijanism” was held at the Education Center Recreation Center of the Free Trade Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The conference, which was attended by over 100 students
from 19 universities, was opened by the Deputy Chairman of the Trade Union Republican
Committee Mirza Jafarzadeh. He first conveyed the greetings and words of the
Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, MP Sattar Mehbaliyev.
He says that Mr Sattar congratulates you on the start of the new
school year and wishes each of you success in education and in your personal
life.
Then Jafarzadeh touched on some aspects of youth policy
implemented by the Republican Committee. He said that the education of our
young people in the spirit of national patriotism, respect for the history,
national and moral values of our people, improvement of their social status,
the mass involvement of young people in sports and sports, the discovery of
talented young people, the basis of science.
Spartakiads,
competitions, competitions in various kinds of sports, intellectual games are
organized every year, financial support is provided to members in need. In
addition, in 1995, the Republican Committee's scholarship was established to
increase students' interest in science
and education. Since then, more than 2,200 students who have been successful in
the winter and summer exams at universities have been awarded this scholarship.
Free lunches
are organized for students from low income at the expense of the Republican
Committee. Every year, 230 students from 16 higher education institutions of
the country use the same discount.
Jafarzadeh
said that since 2004, a festival of artistic creativity has been held among
high school students in honor of national leader Haydar Aliyev. The final round
of the festival, held jointly with the Ministry of Education, involves more
than 250 students each year. The Republican Committee also actively
participates in the annual "Tomorrow's Scientists" competition.
Participation of the contest winners in the USA Intel ISEF - International
Science and Engineering Exhibition is provided by the Republican Committee. In
addition, camps are organized in different regions of the country for the
purpose of efficient organization of summer vacations for children of employees
of trade unions.
Competition
"Young Professionals of the Year" is being held for several years by
trade union youth to stimulate youth labor activity. Hundreds of young people
also participate in this competition and the winners will be awarded.
On the eve of Novruz Holiday and Armed Forces organized
by the Republican Committee, meetings of young people with soldiers and
officers of military units of "N" in Fizuli, Beylagan and Gusar
regions are organized.
The activities I outline
are part of our youth activities. Our main goal in organizing these activities
is to ensure that young people enjoy their leisure time, keep them away from
harmful habits, and create an interest in science and education for young
people.
Chairman

Orujov spoke about the measures taken by our state in the formation of the
younger generation as worthy citizens. He said that the basis of youth policy
was laid by the national leader of our nation Heydar Aliyev. After the restoration
of Azerbaijan's independence, our republic was also faced with the tense
situation associated with the Karabakh war, as well as many political, economic
and social difficulties.
The challenge
ahead was to protect our young people from the difficult trials and adverse
effects of the transition period, and to build a sense of national patriotism.
It is precisely because of the decisive position of the Great Leader and the
forward-looking policy that the Azerbaijani youth entered its development phase.
During the years under the leadership of the national leader Haydar Aliyev, the
Ministry of Youth and Sports was established, national forums of youth were
held, state programs for youth were adopted. As a result of the attention and
care given by the National Leader to youth in 1996, for the first time in the
CIS countries and in Eastern Europe, February 2 was recognized as the Day of
Azerbaijani Youth and began to be celebrated.
Today, a
consistent work is being done to ensure the development of young people in
Azerbaijan. The youth policy in Azerbaijan covers a wide range of issues -
education, upbringing, health, intellectual and moral development, efficient
leisure time, and active participation in all areas of society. State youth
policy stimulates the rapid development of Azerbaijani youth and stimulates the
process of transforming our country into a powerful state.
The state youth
policy implemented by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the targeted
steps taken in the fields of education, social protection and employment of
young people as a result of this policy are expanding the opportunities for
young people.
The head of
state effectively uses all the opportunities for the comprehensive development
of our youth. The recent steps taken by young people are a clear indication of
this. It is no coincidence that 2007 was declared the Year of Youth according
to the relevant decree of the Head of State. Many of the government programs
adopted in recent years have also made important decisions regarding youth.
Seymur Orujov told about the successes of our youth
in the economic and social life of the country, as well as internationally.
Colonel Shah
Ramaldanov, who was twice awarded the Order of the Azerbaijani Flag, spoke
about the work done in the field of military-patriotic education of young
people. He said that the Azerbaijani youth has a high military-patriotic
spirit. They are ready to liberate our lands at any time.
The event was also attended by high school students. Then
there were debates and discussions with moderators of the IRCC department
director Namig Huseynov and the deputy chairman of the Republican Committee of
the Ministry of Health Mirza Jafarzade.
The event
ended with an entertaining program.
