Trade Union Republican Committee
Azerbaijan Oil & Gas Industry Workers Trade Union Republican Committee joins 88667 members in its ranks. The Union was re-founded in 1997 and registered with the Ministry of Justice.
Supreme body of the Union is the congress and is assembled not later than 5 years by the Assembly. Candidature norms in the congress are determined by the RC Assembly. The congress is defining the strategy and main activities of the Union for a certain period. Supreme body of the union during the inter-congress period is called an Assembly held not less than once in every 6 months. The Presidium, which is the instructing body of the union for implementation during the inter-session period of the Assembly is called not less than once in every 3 months.
The “Statute on Permanent Committees” of the Republican Committee has been approved with the decision of the Assembly dated 02.11.2007. According to the Statute, it is envisaged that 6 permanent committees would function, each consisting of 7 people:
Committee on organizational issues
Committee on collective agreements
Committee on social-economic issues
Committee on labour and health protection
Committee on labour disputes
Committee on women and gender
49 trade unions of private, joint venture and transnational companies are functioning in the structural framework of the union, including 12 Trade Unions in private entities, 12 in joint ventures and 17 in Transnational Companies. Number of the members of Trade Unions in private organizations is 1895, in joint ventures 7116 and in foreign companies 5955.
Azerbaijan Oil & Gas Industry Workers Trade Union Republican Committee is the member of International Trade Union Confederation of Oil & Gas Construction Complex Workers and ICEM since 1997 and 1999, respectively.
