On November 21, the Republican Committee of the Union of Culture Workers Trade Union (MRI) held an event dedicated to the International Day Against Violence Against Women.
The event was also attended by chairmen of the Commission
on Gender Equality and Women's Problems under the Republican Trade Union
Committees. The event was opened by the chairman of the RK, Jamila Sattarova,
the head of the ATUC's Center for Gender Equality and Women's Problems. He spoke
about the history of this remarkable day and the convention to be commemorated
by the International Labor Organization's 100th anniversary. He said that in
this important document, the legislation on violence will be expanded, and if
there are harassment of women in the workplace, it will be regarded as a
violation of human rights and the law will be addressed legally.
Sattarova
informed the participants about the work carried out by the UN on a global
scale against violence against women and the ongoing measures taken by our
state and Azerbaijani trade unions to safeguard women's rights and gender
equality and to address all cases of violence against women.

Gulmammadova, the head of the cultural and mass affairs department of the MCHI
RK, spoke about the work done by the commissions of the Republican Committee in
the past period. He said that the city, district committees and the first trade
union organizations are always in the focus of commissions on gender equality
and women's issues in the area of women's rights protection, prevention of
sex discrimination in the workplace, strengthening gender aspects in the
process of collective agreements and contracts. should be.

Huseynov, head of the ATUC's analytical research department on the cultural and
domestic problems of workers, shared his views on the topic.
