March 6-7, in Baku with the participation of the International Labor Organization and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan was held the seminar "Eradication of the informal economy, youth employment, roles and responsibilities of trade unions".
The
event was opened by Ilyas Aliyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of
Trade Unions of Azerbaijan. He noted the relevance of the seminar and noted
that 70-80 million young people between the ages of 15 and 29 are unemployed.
This means that 30-35% of young people around the world are unemployed. In
Azerbaijan, this figure is 13.5 percent. In each country, relevant departments
are working to prevent this problem. However, the organization is not yet on
the proper level. Each organization seeks to cope with this. Ilyas Aliyev said
that we should note the opinions expressed here. Because our job is to keep
young people in society. Therefore, the issues discussed should be presented to
the public. The First Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of
Azerbaijan also spoke about the importance of the work of the Commission on
Social and Economic Issues of the Republic of Azerbaijan. and the National
Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers). He also stressed the closure of the
General Collective Agreement for the next two years.
