The tasks of the Educational Workers

An online meeting of the Presidium of the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Educators of Azerbaijan was held on May 14.
The meeting discussed the situation with
the reception of citizens, consideration of applications and complaints,
approval of the general statistical report on the results of 2019, the
implementation of the budget of the Republican Committee on the results of last
year and other issues on the agenda. Information was provided on each of the
issues included in the agenda and relevant decisions were made.
Chairman of the Republican Committee of
the Free Trade Union of Educators of Azerbaijan, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev addressed
the meeting. Expressing his opinion on the issues discussed, S. Mohbaliyev
informed the participants about the work to be done.
Speaking about the pandemic in the
world, as well as in our country, Mohbaliyev stressed that in the current
situation, trade unions have new responsibilities. He noted that due to the
preventive measures taken in the country on the instructions of President Ilham
Aliyev, infected people were received and treated in medical institutions, a
new type of modular treatment centers were built and put into operation, and
the production of protective equipment was launched. Despite the damage caused
to the world economy by the pandemic, as well as the economy of our republic,
President Ilham Aliyev stated from the first days that the most important issue
for me is the health of the country's citizens. Therefore, all necessary steps
must be taken to prevent the deterioration of the social situation and welfare
of our people. Particularly vulnerable, low-income groups, those working
illegally, the unemployed should be covered with all kinds of care. For this
purpose, about 600,000 such people were assisted. Part of the salaries of about
900,000 people working in the private sector was paid from the budget.
Mohbaliyev said that in the current
pandemic situation, Azerbaijani trade unions have supported the call of the
President from the first days. AZN 250,000 was transferred to the Coronavirus
Support Fund and AZN 100,000 to the Fund established in Nakhchivan at the
expense of funds collected by the ATUC and branch trade unions. In addition,
food aid worth 105,000 manat was distributed to low-income families in the
regions together with the Regional Development Public Union, established on the
initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. These days, 68 tons of food gifts
have been sent to 3,900 families living in 76 cities and regions of the
country. In total, 2.5 million manat was spent by trade unions on all these
measures.
Mohbaliyev said that we are together
with our people in these difficult days. We will continue to support the policy
pursued by President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva,
and we will fulfill our duty to our people through our work and activities.
At the end of the meeting, S. Mohbaliyev
gave his recommendations and instructions to the members of the Presidium.
