The next meeting of the Tripartite Commission was held

The next meeting of the Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Affairs, represented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation (ATUC) and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was held.
Minister
of Labor and Social Protection, Chairman of the Tripartite Commission on Social
and Economic Affairs Sahil Babayev stressed that the main goal of large-scale
reforms in the social sphere on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev is
to ensure the welfare of citizens, improve the quality of labor, employment and
social protection. Due to the reforms, the regulatory framework is constantly
being improved.
According
to the Public Relations and Communications Department of the Ministry, Babayev
said that in general, labor and social reform measures, labor market programs,
new draft laws in the field of labor, employment, social protection are
regularly discussed at meetings of the Tripartite Commission. At the level of
social dialogue, the opinions and suggestions of social partners are studied.
The
Minister noted that Azerbaijan has experience of active and effective
cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO). As another
manifestation of the high appreciation of the successful socio-economic reforms
carried out in our country at the international level, in recent years
Azerbaijan has been elected a member of the ILO Governing Body. In our country,
which has joined the 58th ILO Conventions in the past, the labor legislation
has been improved in accordance with these conventions. The agenda of this
meeting also includes the possibility of ratification of another ILO
Convention.
Noting
the importance of the discussions held by the Commission in the past in the
preparation of many projects, Babayev said that the current meeting will
discuss a number of new draft laws with social partners.
The
commission discussed the draft law on amendments to the Law on Labor Pensions.
Also, the mechanisms of rotation in the civil service, etc. The parties
discussed the possibility of ratification of the ILO Convention No. 173
"On the protection of the rights of workers in the event of insolvency of
entrepreneurs."
Then
organizational issues were considered at the meeting. It was noted that
according to the regulations of the Tripartite Commission on Social and
Economic Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the heads of the Parties
represented in the Commission are elected chairman of the Commission for a term
of one year in a row. Thus, in accordance with the sequence, the chairman of
the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Sattar Mohbaliyev was elected
chairman of the Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Affairs in the
Republic of Azerbaijan for the next year.
