Sattar Mohbaliyev Receives Delegation of International Education Union and Trade Unions of Turkey

On February 17, Sattar Mohbaliyev, Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions, Vice-President of the International Trade Union Confederation, visited the Director of the European Union of the International Education Union Susan Flocken and the Union of Partners of the Eurasian Union of Trade Union President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Chairman Talip Geylan.
The purpose of the visit of the guests to Azerbaijan is
the discussion on the admission of the members of the International Education
Union of Turkish Trade Unions "Egitim-Sen" and "Egitim
Bir-Sen". The Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education
Workers of Azerbaijan acts as the host and mediator in this process.
During the meeting, S.Mohbaliyev greeted the guests and
spoke about the successes of the Azerbaijan Trade Union Confederation and the
Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers of the
Republic of Azerbaijan, talked about joint projects. He said that the
Azerbaijani Education Workers Free Trade Union has been a member of the
International Education Union since 2000, and since 2006, the International
Eurasian Trade Union of Educational Workers. Our cooperation is still high.
These organizations play an important role in the development of our international
relations. We currently have relations with more than 50 countries. The Vice
President of the ASIAH Committee is a member of the Executive Committee of the
International Education Union. Many international seminars have been organized
by the Union in our country.
He said that as a result of these events, we are closely
following the events in the life of the world trade unions, increasing our
experience and developing our cooperation. I am confident that our actions will
be sustained in this summer. I declare that we are always ready to participate
as donors in the events organized in Azerbaijan and other countries, as the
Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan and the Free Trade Union of
Education Workers of Azerbaijan. We also need such seminars. I hope that the
Executive Committee of the International Education Union will consider our
proposals and incorporate them into our 2020 work plan.
In his speech, Susan Floken, Director of the European
Union for International Education, thanked the management of the ATUC and the
leadership of the Free Trade Union of Education Workers for hosting such a
great relationship. The contribution of your organization in our cooperation
with other countries is undeniable. So, having a high level of relations with
neighboring countries gives us great opportunities. I would like to personally
thank you for this development.
Ms S. Floken said that we had acquainted you with our
Turkish partners. I think we will meet with them and discuss cooperation issues.
Azerbaijan is a very important country for us, and you
correctly noted that our cooperation is very important for both parties. In
response to your proposal, I would like to add to our work plan this year our
next joint event with Azerbaijan. I hope we will organize our next event in
Azerbaijan this year.
Talip Geylan, chairman of the International Eurasian
Trade Union of Educational Workers Union and the Turkish Egitim-Sen trade union
committee, also spoke at the meeting.
