The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the people's republic of Azerbaijan was celebrated in ATUC

Broad meeting on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Azerbaijani People's Republic, the first democratic republic in the Muslim East was held on 24th May of 2018. Chairman of ATUC, vice-president of the International Trade Union Confederation, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev delivered a report at the event.
He noted that the Democratic People's Republic of
Azerbaijan did not retreat from such democratic ideals at the most difficult
stage, and took decisive steps to ensure the rights and freedoms of every
citizen. The announcement of such a state in Azerbaijan, the realization of the
reforms promoting the high socio-cultural, economic progress and the formation
of civil society once again confirms that our people have rich statehood
traditions. At present, Azerbaijan is known worldwide as a prestigious state.
In the basis of the formation of this positive image is the successful domestic
and foreign policy that has long been pursued. The achievements of independent
Azerbaijan, the founder of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the President
Ilham Aliyev, who lived in the most powerful period of history, are the triumph
of the principles of sovereignty.
S.Moalbaliev said that the basis of centuries-old
statehood practice of our country is connected with the Azerbaijan Democratic
Republic. Almost two years old, the AXC has left unfinished traces in the
history of state building, and has built a solid foundation for the country's
future independence by strengthening its freedom and independence in the hearts
of our people. The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic has proven that the cruelest
colonial and repressive regimes are not capable of destroying the ideals of
freedom of the Azerbaijani people and the traditions of independent statehood.
This year, the 100 years passed after the formation of
the AXC. The Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev
on the 100th anniversary of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 16,
2017 and the Year of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 2018 is the great
historical event. Undoubtedly, this centuries-old statehood plays an important
role in the promotion of our history, and has once again demonstrated the
importance of a democratic republic. It was shown as a clear example of
confidence in our statehood history. Everyone from the big to the smallest
regard these orders as the special attention of the President of our country to
the history of national statehood.
