Meeting was held in AHIK with members of Turkish Trade Unions

On April 22, a meeting of the delegation of the Trade Union of the Turkish Republic "Şeker-IS" with the Chairman of the Union of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev was held at the invitation of the Federation of Trade Unions of Food and Workers Trade Union in the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation.
Welcoming the guests, the AHIK chairman
informed them about the activities of the Azerbaijani trade unions. He said
that today Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation unites 1 500 500 trade unions.
Every month, regular work is being done to increase the number of union members.The
new trade unions committees are created. An example of this is the recent Trade
Union Committee of Customs Officers. The organization has been working for a
long time to create a trade union. There are currently about 7,000 members of
the newly established trade union. S.Mohbaliyev noted that one of the main
directions of our activity is the establishment of trade unions in the private
and transnational sectors. Although we have some limitations and obstacles, we
can achieve our goal. For example, I would like to point out one fact: there is
a transnational company engaged in metal production in our country. There are
about 2,000 workers in that company. Leader is a foreigner. We wanted to create
a trade union organization in that company. The employer, meanwhile, warned
workers that they had objected to this by preventing them from doing so. After
a while, the head of the enterprise contacted us and said he wanted to meet us.
During the meeting, he acknowledged that he had hindered the creation of a
trade union organization and suggested establishing an organization in his
company. That is to say, in our case, this can happen.
S.Mohlbaliyev noted that the AHIK had
business relations with state bodies and stated that a General Collective
Agreement is signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of
Azerbaijan, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan and the National
Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations. This Agreement, which
includes all areas of society, is being drafted after lengthy discussions and,
as I have said, is signed by the Prime Minister of the country, the AHIK and
the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs. Subsequently, all industry trade
unions conclude Collective Agreements with employers, guiding the provisions of
the General Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The President of the AHIK, who recently
issued a decree on the vital issues of the President, pointed to the increase
in the salaries of the working people, raising the level of social benefits,
setting new benefits, increasing the pensions, student grants, and increasing
the social welfare of the people in general. it was noticed. At the same time
he noted that as a result of the increase of foreign currency value in 2015, a
special order was issued to resolve the problems arising in the loan debt of a
group of population and to compensate for the damage caused to them by the
state.
S.Mohbaliyev noted that large-scale work
on the development of the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations has been carried out,
and the economy is developing with a high level of investment with mutual
investments in both countries.
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office said
Azerbaijan's support for the Karabakh problem is always a testimony to our
people. Expressing his satisfaction with the fact that the government and
people of Turkey have always been with us in this fateful way.
Head of the delegation, President of the
Turkish "Şeker-IS" trade union Isa Gok thanked the AHIK leadership
for the delegation's visit to the AHIK leadership because they were welcomed in
our country and were familiarized with the activities of Azerbaijani trade
unions. The guest expressed his deep admiration that he had visited Azerbaijan
20 years ago and witnessed a great way of development over the past years. So
congratulate our people.
