ATUC commemorated the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev

On December 11, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan hosted an event to commemorate National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Speaking
at the event, the chairman of the ATUC, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev said that today we
have gathered for the commemoration ceremony of the national leader H. Aliyev.
The services of Heydar Aliyev, who did things that many people could not do for
his country, correctly identified the future development path of his country
and convinced the society of the rightness of the way, can be compared only
with the services of historical figures. The main thing is that the national
leader, as a wise leader, was able to guide each Azerbaijanis to know the value
of our independence, to protect it and to live it.
During
the Soviet era (1969-1983), he led Azerbaijan into one of the former Soviet
Union's agrarian republics as an industrial country, earning not only Baku oil
but also its products based on the most modern technologies of the time. Heydar
Aliyev was able to identify Azerbaijan as a republic that was fully
self-sufficient, independent of the subsidy of the union budget.
For many
years, not only in foreign countries, but in the Soviet Union itself,
Azerbaijan, which has been mentioned not only for oil, has also become a great
cultural country during the rule of the great leader.

noted that the position of the great leader in strengthening the trade unions
of Azerbaijan, expanding its ranks and taking its rightful place in civil
society is well known to us. Even during the Soviet era, the great leader was
elected to the trade union with his care and attention. During that period,
Azerbaijan participated in trade union events, as well as in many congresses.
In his
speech at the 16th Congress of the Republican Trade Unions held on February 6,
1982, Heydar Aliyev said: "The experience of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions
proves that they are successfully fulfilling the large and complex tasks facing
them."
Protecting
the health of workers and organizing their meaningful recreation have always
been in the spotlight of the national leader. It was under his leadership that
the sanatoriums "Guneshli", "Pirshaghi", "Shikh",
"Lankaran" and "Gala-Six" boarding house were built and put
into operation. At the suggestion of the Honorable President H.Aliyev to create
a resort zone in the Republic, the USSR Council of Ministers adopted a special
resolution in 1983 on the establishment of an All-Union Resort on the Caspian
Sea of Azerbaijan. During these years, the expansion of inter-farm health
centers was achieved, and health centers were built and commissioned in several
regions of the country, including Aghdam, Barda, Shahbuz, Gakh and other areas.
The
emphasis was placed on the organization of summer and summer camps for
schoolchildren and adolescents, and by the early 1980s, the number of children,
health camps, and camps increased.
A bureau
of travel and excursions was established in Khankendi, Mingachevir, Nakhchivan,
Shusha, Zagatala, Gabala regions, Yalama Dostluk and other areas, tourist
hotels "Karabakh" and "Absheron" were built and put into
operation.
Back
in 1993 at the request and demand of the people of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev,
first of all, returned to the republic with the aim of overcoming the turmoil
and chaos that prevailed in the country and, despite all the difficulty,
achieved it in a very short time.
The
chairman of the ATUC said that today's review of the activities of Heydar
Aliyev in 1993-2003 should not be astonished by his inexhaustible energy and
the number of visits he has made abroad. The national leader, who has managed
to stabilize the country, has made more than 108 foreign trips in 10 years.
The
national leader, who has repeatedly emphasized the independence of Azerbaijan,
did not even accept the slightest compromise that could undermine this independence.
The years of national leader's leadership in the country can be described as
the years when independent Azerbaijan became a full member of international
organizations. During these years, Azerbaijan has become a full member of the
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the OSCE, CIS, GUAM, OIC,
UNESCO, ISESCO and many other organizations and some regional organizations,
including GUAM, TURKSOY. was the initiator of flour formation.
He said
that one of the main services of the national leader was Heydar Aliyev, which
thanks to which Azerbaijan has signed many large global economic projects and
integrated into the world economy. The Azerbaijani economy has become an author
and active participant in many international economic projects (the Treaty of
the Century) on the initiative and proposals of the great leader. The TRACECA
program has played an important role in turning Azerbaijan into a major transit
country in recent years. This program has been an important tool for the
restoration of the Great Silk Road.
Heydar
Aliyev has gained a special reputation among world politicians. The great
statesmen and politicians of the world have calculated what he said and did not
hesitate to express his admiration for his outlook, personality, principled
position and will when commenting on this great statesman. The removal of the
death penalty from the Criminal Code by the great leader was highly appreciated
by the world powers.
After
Azerbaijan gained its independence for a second time, a draft law defining the
location and status of trade unions was prepared and submitted to the National
Assembly by the ATUC experts. Despite all our efforts, this draft was not even
brought up for consideration by the Parliament. Under the auspices of the ATUC,
with the blessing and full support of the great leader, the Law of the Republic
of Azerbaijan “On Trade Unions” of 24 February 1994 regulates the activities of
trade unions at the level of modern requirements and is fully based on
international trade union practice.
With the
help of the great leader, the material and technical base of all organizations
and enterprises of the Trade Unions of Azerbaijan was strengthened and a number
of cultural and health facilities and sports facilities were built and put into
service by the trade unions.
The
national leader H.Aliyev sent a congratulatory message to the first and second
congresses of the ATUC, following the care and attention of all events carried
out by the Azerbaijan Trade Unions.
The
chairman of the ATUC said that the return of the great leader to power resulted
in the abolition of unfair decisions made by trade unions during the reign of
the Popular Front Party. They even looked at the property of the trade unions
and even tried to get the administrative building where it was located. True,
the decisive actions of trade unions did not allow them to fulfill their
wishes, but these forces did not intend to put an end to local trade
interference in the work of trade unions. As a result of the intervention of
our national leader H.Aliyev at that time, the Trade Unions of Azerbaijan again
became a worthy place in the social, political, economic and cultural life of
the country. At that time, illegal orders and instructions, including decisions
to transfer health and treatment facilities to the Ministry of Health, were
abolished, and the trade unions began to expand resort-tourist facilities,
sports facilities and administrative buildings. All this was a clear example of
the attitude of the great leader to trade unions, which are the protectors of
the social and economic rights of workers.
At a
meeting with the leaders of international and foreign trade unions
participating in the ATUC congresses, he highly appreciated the trade unions of
the Republic, including the ATUC, and said that he would take important steps
to expand their activities and that he was a member of the trade union. The
fact that he paid his membership fees was the greatest leader's greatest trust
in the trade union.

further stated that we see the native attitude to the trade unions from the
President Ilham Aliyev, a faithful follower of the political course of the
great leader Heydar Aliyev. A vivid example of this is the constant defense of
the proposals of the Confederation of Trade Unions by the government and
personally by our President. Almost most of the proposals to improve the health
of the population, to increase the salaries, pensions and unemployment benefits
of all categories were accepted. A number of amendments and additions to the
Law on Trade Unions, Labor and Administrative Offenses contributed to further
enhancement of the role and status of trade unions in the society,
strengthening its financial status.
