The meeting of the Executive Committee of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan was held on 2 March.The meeting began with a minute of silence in memory of people who died during a fire in the Republican Narcological Center in Khatai district of Baku.
The
chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan, deputy of the
Parlament Sattar Mehbaliyev made an
opening speech. The meeting approved the work plan of the Executive Committee
for the first half of 2018, and statistical reports of trade unions for the
last year were heard. According to the report, 147 new trade unions were
created last year. 64 of them were youth and 180 were women. 47 of them belong
to the non-state sector. These organizations unite 1,688 members in their
ranks. 95.3 percent of petitions and complaints filed with trade unions were
resolved positively. The presentation by Rector of the Academy "The results of
training of trade unions and employees of the Academy of Labor and Social
Affairs of Azerbaijan in 2017", , guided by the decision of the Executive
Committee of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan of March 14, 2017,
based on modern innovative methods, targeted measures to improve the education
system of trade unions leaders and activists.In the Academy in 2017, 747 people
were registered. 64 of them were youth and 180 were women. Particular attention
was paid to the participation of chairmen of trade unions, first elected at the
courses. For this purpose, a curriculum on the basics of trade union
organizations was developed and 8 topics were included in this program. To
stimulate the learning process, a survey was conducted at the beginning of the
course among the listeners, and their feedback was taken into account.
