Conference “Development of welfare system in Azerbaijan: then, now and in future” was held with regard to the 100th anniversary of establishment of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, 26 December.
The ATUC chairman, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev made a speech at
the event:
Dear attendees!
Ladies and gentlemen!
On behalf of Azerbaijan Trade Unions I am delivering my
congratulations to You – our close social partner on Your 100th anniversary,
and wish you keep taking decisive and confident steps for the good of the social
welfare of Azerbaijan people.
I am very proud of the fact that the Ministry of Labor was
established by Azerbaijan Democratic Republic 100 years ago in order to
regulate labor relations and other related issues. It should be noted that 10 out
of 315 draft laws were brought to the parliament’s consideration in those
periods.
Thanks to
the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev who successfully follows the
nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev’s line, Azerbaijan became leader in the region for
its growth dynamics. The yield of such growth is also reflected in the amount
of work pensions and social allowances. On October 1 of this year, average
monthly amount of pensions increased by 8.4 percent in relation to 2017 and became
AZN 221.1. Next year the percent of increase will be 6.3 and the amount will become
AZN 241, and the average monthly salary is expected to increase by 14.9
percent.
