International conference on "Future of Labor Sector" was held in Tashkent

An international conference titled "Future of the Labor Sector: Initiatives on Decent Work on the Occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the International Labor Organization (ILO)" was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on December 14.
Representatives
from 10 countries participated in the event organized by the ILO and the
Government of Uzbekistan. The opening ceremony was attended by ILO Director
General Guy Ryder, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov and other
officials. The speeches focused on labor, employment and social partnership.
Development of effective employment programs, improvement of occupational
safety, especially vocational education system among young people and women,
development of private employment agencies, strengthening social protection of
migrants and other issues were highlighted.
Two plenary and three division sessions
were held within the framework of the conference. At the meeting, Deputy
Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan, Matin
Kerimli, made a report on the topic "Sustainable Development Goals can be
achieved through the development of decent work." Reports of the
representatives from other countries were also heard at the sectional sessions.
Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Azerbaijan
Trade Unions Confederation, Javanshir Alkhasov, spoke at the conference on
labor protection.
