The next workshop on Sustainable Development Goals was held

On October 11, a seminar titled "Summing up the High Level Forum on Sustainable Development Goals in New York in July 2019 and forthcoming tasks", organized by the ATUC and the International Labor Organization (ILO), was held in Shamakhi.

Opening the seminar, Secretary of the ATUC - Head of the Office Hasan Jafarov informed the participants about the goals and objectives of the seminar.
Hasanov Jafarov said that the National Coordination Council on Sustainable Development Goals has been established in the Republic. The Council held meetings with all stakeholders while preparing the National Volunteer Report, and a number of guidelines were developed by the working group of the Council. Jafarov said Azerbaijan was the first country in the region to approve roadmaps for this purpose. That is why Azerbaijan is in the top 10 countries in the World Bank's Trade Facility Report for 2018.
Speaking about the progress made in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, N. Huseynov, the head of the ATUC department, R. Karayeva, the specialist of the International Relations Department of the ATUC, the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the UN High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development - spoke to the seminar participants about the main challenges.
The event was attended by Deputy Director of the Organizational and Information Department of the ATUC. Jafarov informed the participants about the main tasks facing trade union leaders and activists in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Discussions were held on the issues discussed at the event.
