The next meeting of the Commission was held

A meeting of the Commission on Occupational Safety, Ecology, Health and Social Welfare of the General Trade Union Confederation was held in Moscow on October 25.
The
first organizational issue was considered at the event. The number of members
of the Commission has been reduced from 44 to 30. The number of commission
members has been doubled in Azerbaijan. Deputy Chairman of the Trade Unions
Confederation of Azerbaijan Javanshir
Alkhasov, Chairman of the International Trade Union Organisation Vasily Bondarev and Vice
President of the Academy of Labor and Social Affairs Alexander Safonov were elected co-chairmen.
Another
key issue on the agenda was the idea of "trade unions' activities in the
field of occupational safety at the modern stage."
Javanshir Alkhasov delivered a speech on the
topic of "Azerbaijan Trade Unions Strategy - Improving healthy and safe
working conditions". The Commission will assist in resolving social and
economic problems at the legislative level.
