On November 15, the plenary session of the Republican Committee of the Independent Trade Union of Communications Workers addressed the issue of “The role of trade unions in the solution of labor protection problems in modern conditions”.
Chairman
of the Committee Seymur Orujov, who chaired the meeting, made a welcome speech.
He noted that the social policy implemented by our state, especially in recent
months, has had a positive impact on the welfare of people and their families
working in the communication system, adding that President Ilham Aliyev has not
only increased the income of our citizens, but also their safe working
environment. and the right to live and work to the extent required by decent
work.
This is also one of the trade union's
leading missions. We will review the work we have done in the plenum since the
beginning of the year and set new targets.
Deputy Chairman of the Republican
Committee Rashad Safarov made a report on the agenda. He focused primarily on
collective agreements and collective agreements with partners of the Republican
Committee and member organizations. He said that the trade union was able to
take measures on logistical and financial support for labor protection based on
these documents. Regular inspections, raids, inspections by the technical
committee of the Republican Committee indicate that most communication
enterprises have modern technological equipment. A safe and comfortable working
environment is created for the employees. Each organization was provided with
occupational safety instructions. New recruits are familiarized with and
instructed to work with existing equipment, use tools. After that, they are
allowed to work individually. Employees are provided with special, protective
clothing. All this is done under the control of trade union organizations.
According to Safarov, the results of more
than 230 inspections conducted by the technical committee of the Republican
Committee over the past three years were discussed at the Presidium. Another 4
inspections were conducted in conjunction with the state regulatory
authorities. All of the references have been seriously analyzed. Written
information was sent to the heads of relevant enterprises regarding the issues
raised. The information also indicates the time required to correct the
deficiencies. This issue was kept under the control of the trade union.
Safarov emphasized the support of the
Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan in the field of labor protection,
saying that the field actively participates in annual series of seminars and
contests on labor protection and decent work. “As you can see, we have done
everything within our authority to ensure that our members work safely and
return home safely. However, this does not mean that all problems have been
solved. Some facilities have completed their service life, but at least
equipment remains. There are also companies with weak internal controls. Of
course, we will take the necessary measures to address these shortcomings as
well. ”
