Seminar on 28 April - World Day for Safety and Health at Work was held at the Trade Union of Metropolitan Workers

On 18 April, the seminar on 28 April - World Day for Safety and Health at Work took place at the Trade Union of Metropolitan Workers on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of International Labor Organization.
The chairman of TRMW Arif Mardanov welcomed
the attendees and spoke about the reforms recently carried out in “Baku
Metropolitan” CSJC with regard to occupational safety. He said HSE function
established for this purpose reported directly to the chairman and the function
regularly performed scheduled and additional inspections. As a result accidents
are prevented. Technical inspector of labor at TRMW Vugar Mirzayev informed the
attendees about HSE in his speech. He noted that the culture of safety was
subject to mindset, knowledge, intelligence and thinking of personnel. Nowadays
injuries in metropolitan have been minimized due to HSE legislation, popularization
of right use of safety and personal protective equipment, mastering of the
rules for fire safety, first aid habits, and strict control of compliance with these
rules.
At the closing of the event, a
specialist at the Department of Occupational Safety of Azerbaijan Trade Unions
Confederation Nadir Muradov spoke about the history of World Day for Safety and
Health at Work. He said effective measures were performed in the country to
prevent accidents at work today.
