On August 7, Sheki City Executive Power and the State Agency for Obligatory Medical Insurance (Agency), with the support of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan held a series of educational events on "Implementation of compulsory health insurance system in the country". The purpose of the event was to inform the public about the system of compulsory health insurance, system advantages, and readiness to apply compulsory health insurance throughout the country. Chief of Staff of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Hasan Jafarov, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of Trade Unions of Health Workers Javid Mammadov, Chairman of the Mingachevir Trade Union Committee of Trade Workers Allahverdi Aliev and the staff of the Agency Elvinov Elvin. Alkhasov stressed that the introduction of compulsory health insurance in the country as a continuation of recent reforms in the health care system by the President will contribute to the development of health. According to him, the purpose of compulsory health insurance is to reduce the financial burden on the population's health care costs and to introduce a new health financing mechanism. Javadova said that the country's leadership is taking a number of measures to improve the social welfare of the population. One of them is the decision to apply compulsory health insurance throughout the country. E. Amirov informed the participants about the construction and major repairs of a number of medical facilities in the country, the strengthening of the material and technical base, the restoration and purchase of new equipment. He noted that the introduction of compulsory health insurance will improve the quality of primary health care, emergency and urgent care. In his speech, Mammadov noted that salaries of medical workers were raised within the implementation of compulsory health insurance as a pilot project. According to him, after the introduction of compulsory health insurance in the country, salaries of medical workers will increase. A. Aliyev spoke about the positive results of the compulsory health insurance system and its importance in the three regions as a pilot project. The employees of the agency spoke about the essence of the compulsory health insurance system, medical services provided under the envelope of services, rights and obligations of insured persons, as well as insurers. It is noted that insureds have the right to use medical services in the event of an accident in accordance with the base or additional part of the service envelope. At the end, the agency's employees answered the questions of citizens' interest and distributed an educational booklet. An educational event is also planned to be held in Oguz region and August 8 in Gabala. Earlier, the educational event was held in Guba, Gusar, Balakan, Gakh and Zagatala districts.
