Delegates of Turkish Educational Trade Unions were received in AHIK

On 1 May, AHIK chairman, MP Sattar Mohbaliyev received representatives of the Trade Union of Educational Workers of Turkey "Egitim-Bir-Sen" in Baku. Let's not forget that "Egitim-Bir-Sen", which incorporates five hundred thousand union members, is the trade union organization of the largest education workers in Turkey.
Informing the guests about the
Azerbaijan Trade Union of Free Trade Unions, S.Mohbaliyev said that the Union
unites nearly 400,000 faculty members. Most of them are students. Problems
encountered by educators, concerns, protection of their labor rights,
organization of leisure activities and other issues are the focus of the field
trade union. The AHIK chairman noted that a large leisure center was created at
one of the most beautiful corners of the republic at the expense of the Trade
Union of Education Workers in order to effectively organize the vacations of
education workers and their family members. The center has all the conditions
for relaxation, treatment and good rest. In addition, the necessary measures
are being taken during the season to organize their rest in other
sanatorium-resort facilities of the republic.
S.Mohbaliyev emphasized that comprehensive
care of the members of the trade union is one of the important spheres of our
activity. Students transfer 2% of the state subsidy to the trade union account.
We provide them with recreation, cultural and mass events, we are closely
involved with their problems. In accordance with state youth policy, trade
union organizations organize various intellectual games, sports competitions in
this direction, work on the effective organization of leisure time of young
people. I would also like to note that steps are being taken to strengthen
social welfare of young people from low-income families. Every year more than
220 students from low-income families are provided with free meals by the Trade
Union of Education Workers. Or, according to the results of the summer exam
session, students of the higher education institution, who are excellent and
trade union activists, receive scholarships from the Union. Recently, we have
opened the Republican Universiade of high school students. Students from 16
higher education institutions are taking part in the Universiade. These
competitions will be held on 10 types of sports and will cover more than a
thousand students. You can bring such examples and our goal is to get
acquainted with the work done by the Trade Union Workers Union. We are
determined to expand our activities in this direction.
The chairman of the AHIK then informed the
guests about the activities and activities of the Azerbaijani Trade Unions in
general. The issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
